"Fugue by Roger and Gallet: it is a light but inconsequential fugue to which one sees an invitation...A dream for a young girl, but which is no longer attractive because all the flowers come together to give her for a few hours all the blooming of a summer's day."
Combat, 1954:
"Eau Fugue by Roger and Gallet: The Greek Meleager wrote: 'I will weave with myrtles the pure narcissus and the golden daffodil, I will also weave the purple hyacinth; I will weave the amorous rose, so that, on the temples of Heliodorus with fragrant hair, my crown enamels the pretty curls with its flowers.' For the Heliodorus of today the crown of Meleager flows from a flask."
